The annual Pride Parade in New York celebrates the progress of the LGBTQ community. In 2019, we will be hosting an even larger event, promoting their rights: WorldPride NYC 2019.
What is WorldPride?
WorldPride is the world’s largest LGBTQ event. Everyone who believes in liberty and equality for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenders and Queers will come together to celebrate. There have been 5 WorldPrides so far (Rome in 2000, Jerusalem in 2006, London in 2012, Toronto in 2014 and Madrid in 2017), which will make WorldPride NYC the 6th event of this kind. WorldPride 2021 has already been announced to be hosted in Copenhagen.

WorldPride will be hosted in New York City.
When is WorldPride 2019?
WorldPride will take place during the entire month of June, 2019.
WorldPride NYC 2019
2019 will mark 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising in Greenwich Village. For that reason, many people also refer to WorldPride 2019 as “Stonewall50”. The uprising describes a gay-right movement in 1969, following a police raid at the Stonewall Inn – a gay hotel and bar.
Millions of domestic and international visitors are expected to celebrate WorldPride in the streets of Manhattan. It will be the first WorldPride hosted in the United States.
The 30-day celebration will offer an extensive entertainment program. In total, there are more than 50 events, including parties, rallies, lectures and a march. See full list of events
