My Dream US Road Trip – PLUS a Giveaway (AD)
Where would you go on your dream US road trip? For me, the answer is an East Coast jaunt focusing on national parks, great food, and cultural hidden gems. Although I’d definitely want to visit some of the big cities, for me the trip would be all about wide open spaces. Think dream destinations like Yosemite and the Moab desert.
To show off their amazing new Trip Planner, Brand USA asked me to share a post about my dream trip in the USA. They’ve also given me an awesome prize to giveaway (more on that later). I sat down for a play on the Trip Planner tool and started plotting out the dream route – which I’ve shared the highlights of below.
Don’t miss my awesome giveaway at the end of this post! I’ve got £200 worth of TUI vouchers to help make your dream trip a reality – so read right till the end to find out how to enter!
This post is in conjunction with Visit The USA but all thoughts are my own.

My Dream US Road Trip
My dream US road trip focuses mainly on the two states I want to visit most of all: California and Utah! National parks, amazing scenery, cool cities, and all that wine… need I go on?! So I used the Trip Planner to plot out a road trip from California, through Nevada, and on to Utah. It automatically generated a fab route featuring all my dream stops. But, even better, it also slipped in some hidden gems that I’d never have thought to visit! Here are the highlights of my dream US road trip…
Yosemite

Tunnel View, Yosemite
No trip to California is complete without a visit to Yosemite National Park. It’s been on my wishlist for years – ever since I was a geeky little photography student and first discovered Ansel Adams!
With at least two full days in the park, I could visit a lot of the popular sites – and a few hidden gems, too. Glacier Point, Tunnel View, and Yosemite Falls are all top of my list.
Californian Cities

San Francisco is another big name that’s top of my dream destinations list. But as well as exploring one of the most popular cities in the USA, I’ve also discovered a couple of less well-known cities to visit along the Californian coast thanks to the Trip Planner.
In San Simeon, the Elephant Seal Rookery is an amazing place to see seals – especially during nesting season. I definitely want to see some baby seals. Plus the coastal town looks really beautiful and has some gorgeous looking beaches. And then there’s the pretty city of Monterey. As well as a colorful wharf and some fab beaches, the city is also surrounded by nature reserves. There’s plenty of nature and wildlife to discover around – and it’s a perfect spot for whale watching!
Viva Las Vegas!

I’ll be honest… Las Vegas doesn’t massively appeal to me. I’m not sure I’d love the city, but I’m definitely curious to see it! So one night on the way through to Utah seems the perfect way to get a little taste. And the Brand USA trip planner has picked out some pretty cool things to do the day after my one night of debauchery.
There are the rugged sandstone peaks of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to explore just outside the city. And then there are plenty of cultural hidden gems such as the Titanic history museum, or a trip to Counts Kustoms to see uniquely pimped out cars. I’m sure I can while away 24 hours in Las Vegas quite nicely!
Zion National Park

Utah has the exact kinds of landscapes I picture when I fantasize about a US road trip! The Zion National Park has been on my radar for a while now – it just looks absolutely stunning.
The Zion Canyon Scenic Drive looks like my road trip of dreams. And I’d love to hit the hiking trails to soak up some of those incredible views – Angle’s Landing looks glorious. Big, dramatic, Wild West style landscapes… plus some awesome hiking trails and plenty of fun things to do. Sign me up!
Moab Desert

I said I wanted wide open spaces on my US road trip, and the Moab Desert certainly delivers on that front. From the popular Arches National Park – dotted with red rock archways – to the curves and canyons of Dead Horse Point, Moab is all about amazing landscapes.
Plus, it’s a great spot for some outdoor adventures (my favorite), such as white water rafting on the Colorado River. I love the look of the canyoning and rappelling tours of the canyons. Moab looks like the kind of place where you can indulge an adventurous spirit (or pretend you’re in a real-life cowboy film), so it’s the perfect location to end my dream US road trip.
