With one of the largest Veterans Day parades in the country, the Veterans Day Parade in NYC has a special meaning to the city and its residents. We, of course, honor our veterans every single day. On Veterans Day in the United States, we come together to pay a very special homage to the men and women in the military. New York City celebrates this very special holiday with the Veterans Day Parade.
This year President Trump will kick off the parade at the Opening Ceremony and will be the first president ever to do so. He won’t be marching the parade due to security reasons.

Every year the Veterans Day Parade is hosted at the Eternal Light Monument in Madison Square Park, which is on Fifth Avenue and 24th Street. After the traditional opening ceremony in the park, more than 300 groups and 20,000 participants march the parade. If you’re wondering where is the Veterans Day Parade in NYC, make sure to stay on Fifth Avenue.
The parade starts on 26th Street and marchers will walk up to Midtown Manhattan 46th Street. It’s a 1.2 miles walk in total. The parade kicks off at 11:00 AM.
